Girls likes Barbie doll. But many mothers insist the girls not to play with barbie dolls much. They have always garnered much controversy. Their curvy, idealized bodies, overt makeup, and even skin tone can greatly affect the way young girls perceive themselves. The creations of Tasmanian artist Sonia Singh, Tree Change Dolls might solve this problem.
She restyled the faces of the dolls by removing the factory paint from the doll and repainting them by giving them makeunders and a more down to earth style. The dolls have been rescued and rehabilitated from op-shops and tip shops around Tasmania. These lil fashion dolls have had a lifestyle change, swapping their high-maintenance high-fashion habits for down-to-earth style. Sonia hand repaints the dolls faces, molds new feet or shoes, and her mum sews and knits their clothing.
