Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter’16 Day 2 Schedule.


Aniakka by Kanika Saluja showcased a gothic twist and the label also did its menswear debut this year. Golden sparkle, bright embellishments, zari and fine zardozi work were the sartorial statements at the show. Lace detailed eye masks and dramatic drapes with a gothic twist in  vibrant hues stole the show. And of course, Shriya Saran looked nonetheless a Gothic Goddess in her black sequined saree paired with a gold ornate blouse and a very beautiful golden head gear.

Virtues by Viral, Ashish and Vikrant’s “MASHRU” collection was a delightful display of color, prints and orient accents. Traditonal Ikat prints were seen in abundance at the runway with hints of gold on a canvas of red hues and fluid silhouettes!

Rimzim Dadu’s collection was an innovation of molten wires, faux leather and metal seen on surface textured Indian silhouettes and fluid metallics. The runway showed the workshop backdrop which was a new sartorial set up and also an interesting one. Hues revolving around midnight blue and blacks radiated a perfect autumn winter vibe.

Dhruv Kapoor’s collection depicted the women going on intergalactic missions. The modern androgyny was transformed to evening glam with an amalgamation of metallics and shimmery accents toned with button down silhouettes. Furs, metallics and meat & millitary sleeves were a complete BANG ON! Lovely shimmers and fur on a canvas on earthy tones were a depiction of high sartorial taste with models seen in crimped/slick hair and oh so lovely bold berry lips.

Rajputana culminates to Mangolia at Samant Chauhan’s show. Staying loyal to his signature style “The Silk Route” collection featured contemporary Indian silhouettes in earthy tones along with a snowy silk route. Elegant embroideries with a mix of bright thread work accents were seen in an abundance. Long braided hair and the perfect silk route were the show steals for Samant Chauhan’s collection. A Perfect Festive Winter wardrobe!

Malini Ramani ’s SUPERNOVA featured a beautiful collection of slinky drapes in deisgner’s signature style. Hints of shimmer, super sexy silhouettes and gorgeous drapes with cut out detailing, bold stripes and tribal inspirations were seen in a melange of bright, muted and nude tones.

Nikasha celebrated her 10 years of her love for Rajasthan. Surface emebllishments, flowy capes were seen with silhouettes crafted with a mix of comfort and tradition.Sexy cut out backs with draw string tie and tassel detailing were the sartorial statemnent that we loved. A lot of kediya art work inspiration was seen on the runway on easy Indian separates depicting perfect sufi vibes.

Anita Dongre Grassroot “The Earth Song” echoing the melodies of nature, collection was pure poetry and was all about earthy tones (indigo blues and reds) and organic fabrics. You will fall in love with these flowy silhouettes in a fresh palette finished with printed floral and nature inspired motifs on canvas of colors and textures. One more thing that we absolutely loved out there was the jungle kinda set up!

Rajesh Pratap Singh’s “Gold Rush” collection featured simple yet sophisticated silhouettes in shades of white and gold only. Bling and shimmery pajama dressing in pure gold were the stars of the show. We just couldn’t get enough of this gold splattered collection depicting sophistication.
